• Chamber of Commerce Manager - Part-Time

    The Jarrell Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and community-focused part- time Manager to lead and champion the fostering of a thriving business environment within the Jarrell area. 

    Primary Objectives: 

    As the key leader of the Chamber, the Manager will be responsible for driving membership growth and engagement, developing and implementing programs and initiatives that support local businesses, and serve as a visible and influential advocate for the Jarrell business community.  This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to build collaborative relationships with members, community leaders, and stakeholders. 

    The ideal candidate will be a visionary and results-oriented professional adept at managing budgets, overseeing operations, and working closely with the Board of Directors to achieve the Chamber’s strategic goals.

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Work with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to implement the adopted Strategic Plan.  

    • Work with the Chamber committees to identify issues and needs and develop plans to address them. 

    • Organize and attend all Board Meetings and Monthly Luncheons, Business After Hours and Lunch and Learns (Including securing speakers, caterers, and sponsors). 

    • Assist Ambassadors in scheduling Ribbon Cuttings and oversee the delivery and presentation of member plaques and stickers. 

    • Provide leadership in building cross-sector partnerships among businesses, government agencies, and community organizationsIdentify, establish, and maintain strategic linkages with leaders and stakeholders in the community. 

    • Assist the Board in the development of policy and the execution of policies adopted by the Board. 

    • Recruit and retain new and existing members of the Chamber. 

    • Work with the Treasurer and Executive Committee to develop the annual budgetManage revenue and expenses in accordance with the established budget. 

    • Be available for planning and executing special events and annual Gala. 

    • Send invoices for monthly renewals. 

    • Assist the Chairs of all committees as needed. 

    • Attend industry-related conferences and meetings, as necessary. 

    • Make sure proper insurance policies are current. 

    • Renew all dues and subscriptions when necessary. 

    • Engage with the membership, taking phone calls, and fielding emails received by the Chamber. 

    • Ensure member benefits are provided appropriately. 

    Qualifications & Requirements: 

    • Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) 

    • Superb customer service skills 

    • Professional demeanor and ability to work under pressure 

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

    • Have 3-5 years of previous experience in an administrative role (Not-for-profit experience a plus) 

    • Be proficient in software and collaboration tools including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) 

    • Available to work flexible hours, including some evening, weekend, and early morning events 

     

    Compensation will be $20 an hour.
